Keep it real, girlfriend....loving this idea. New to blogging, as well, but I usually never read the glaringly obvi sponsor posts in my blogroll. They always seem awkward and inauthentic no matter how crafty a writer you are.

I also don't like the sponsor posts. They are too forced and I always skip them! I've been reading for a while now, though I'm a terrible commenter. I have been toying with the idea of opening my blog up to sponsors again. I quit in the past because I didn't want to be one of "those." I think I will find my own unique way of offering ads. thanks for inspiring me to think outside the box! I just want my blog to pay for itself! :)

ReplyDeleteThis is EXACTLY what I saw about sponsors! I mean I still have about zilch for followers but I still cringe at "Sponsor Posts". Why would I ever want to read something that I know is just being forced because the person wants to be more popular. I'll stick to Mean Girls to get my fair share of that goodness. I love that you do it this way. Whenever I become famous like you I am totally adopting some of your tactics. Love it.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest you are one of the only blogs I would be interested in sponsoring BECAUSE you are real and because of this post. I also pride myself on having a blog that is 100% real bailey authentic shit and if someone is going to be talking about me lots or writing posts about me I'd be more pleased with the person being a)like you, honest and real in what they are saying and not just writing it because they have to or b)a real fan of my blog. I still haven't jumped on the sponsor train (I don't even have a button) but it's in the future for me most likely.
