Inspire Me: Healthy Week 5: Have I lost weight?!

Photobucket

So, the big question...did I lose weight?

And here's the answer...

not. even. an. ounce. NOT EVEN ONE!

Granted, it's all my husbands fault as he has had me stranded on the boat for the past two weekends in a row and God knows healthy food is not a part of camping...

Speaking of camping...

My husband lives for it. He is in his element. He grew up going to the lake and some of his fondest memories are of him, his brother and a childhood friend buying a busted boat for a few hundred dollars and spending the whole summer skiing on the lake. Me? Yes, I am the old cliche of "I would rather be in a comfy hotel than in a tent on the sand."

Granted, I don't ever sleep in a tent, as we have a boat that sleeps six comfortabley, but still....I want my down pillows and room service. Just being honest.

However, for my hubs, I am willing to walk a mile in his shoes and yes, I will once again be spending the weekend sleeping on the boat with our two young children. What does this have to do with our Get Healthy link-up? Well let me ask you this...

Have you ever eaten a cheeseburger in a bikini?

IT SUCKS.

It's basically impossible. I hear it's a great diet solution. Just sit around in your bikini all day and you'll lose weight, because eating fatty foods in a bikini will make you feel like complete dog shit. Seriously.

 Try it.

Anyway, since I haven't lost one single milliounce, I am posting the same picture I did two weeks ago...

Photobucket

and now, I have an even bigger incentive...

the hubs and I are going to Vegas the last weekend in September and that means I have less than twenty five days to lose forty pounds.

It can be done, oh yes, it can. Just watch.

I'm not promising it will be healthy or legal, but it can be done.

So I ask you this, and as I ask, I am being extremely honest, I do not care if it's healthy or socially acceptable...

how do I lose forty pounds in three weeks?!?!?!

And please, leave your link below so I can get inspired!

  4. The bikini idea is pretty genius. Where as I normally feel like I have a rock sitting in my stomach when I eat one, I ate one at the beach and felt like everyone could see my cheeseburger bulge. I think I might take on this idea!

  13. Try having to squeeze into a muffin top causing Hooters outfit every day...That is EXACTLY the reason that I can maintain! I put my best tips on le blog today ;)

  14. Try eating super small portions (like a handful of nuts or fruits or veggies) every few hours and tons and tons of water. You never feel hungry (or too full), have lots of energy and lots of energy equals moving around and doing more (chasing your boys, etc) and you will be SHOCKED....and I mean shocked, at how much weight you will loose. Of course you need to make sure you get all of the required nutrition (maybe a multivitamin). This has helped me but everyone is different and it may not work for your lifestyle, but I eat a handful of something every hour on the hour and always have dinner with my family and I've lost 25 pounds in 4 weeks. I'm sure we all know that the first 10-15 pounds are always the easiest because it's mostly fluid, etc. But I feel amazing. Good luck!

  15. You don't lose any pounds secretly eating fast food hamburgers in your car, that's for sure. I need to keep reminding myself about that.

  16. Please share the tips you get to do that!

  19. Eat the cheeseburger...just without the cheese and bun-or half the bun. Extra pickles! I have found that when I'm trying to diet or do a "lifestyle change" (yeah right, it's a diet!) it's easiest for me to keep eating the same food, just varying them a little. Doing this helped me lost 24 lbs and keep it off! For over a year now! Also, keep healthy snacking items around...carrot sticks, rice cakes, lightly buttered popcorn, almonds, etc. If I had healthy stuff to snack on, it was better than eating crap. And PORTION CONTROL!!!

  20. My fiance would live on a sailboat if he could. I'll be in vegas that weekend too! Where are yall staying?

  21. I say drink massive amounts of water, to fill yourself up, before eating anything else. Then you'll eat almost nothing? Maybe? Hell, I don't know.
Are we seeing you on Saturday? That could be potentially diet crashing. Alcohol has a lot of calories. Oh boy....

  22. I am assign Kristen's post is much more "weight loss inspiring"... =/. Anyway, don't eat the cheeseburger this weekend! Do I need to go back to sending you daily inspirational texts? And how does a cheeseburger fit in with your "skinny bitch obsession?" hmm!? No one is calling you out on that one?? Don't make me rat you out for the turkey sandwiches you made us for lunch the other day. ;)

  23. I honestly was at such a plateau losing my newlywed weight (it got me to my heaviest ever -- thanks, babe.) Haha! Anyway, I found out that consuming starches was aggravating an arthitic issue of mine so I cut out ALL starch (root veggies, anything made with flour) and ALL simple carbs. I eat a high protein, high veggie, and actually, slightly higher fat diet and I lost 6 pounds in two weeks! Almost down to my lightest weight ever which I haven't seen in years. WOOT! Anyway, I know you don't eat meat but if you eat starch or any complex carbs (bread, etc), I would kick those to the curb for some more weight loss. But make sure you up your fat intake a bit so that your body doesn't go into starvation mode and hog the fat you already have... Good luck!

  24. When you find out, please let me know. I have to lose 40 pounds by 10/27/12, which is my sister's wedding. My dumbass ordered a bridesmaid dress that was 2 sizes too small so I would have "Incentive" to lose the weight. Well that "Incentive" hasn't worked and I am in need of a miracle. I am also going to be in Vegas the last weekend of September for my Sister's bachelorette party. I only wish they still sold the diet pills with the ephedrine, those puppies rocked.

  25. I've heard that cutting off a leg and a half may help. Not saying I've tried it, b ut just what I've heard.

  26. When I used to take adderall in college (to ummm, study... yep, that's why) that shit would knock out any ounce of an appetite I'd ever had. I'm pretty sure this one could be classified under the illegal category.

  28. If you find out the secret to even losing 15 lbs in 25 days you better do a blog post and share with the world!!!!!!!! =) haha

Jeremy & I are on a "healthier" eating plan. We are trying to not eat out as often, buy more fresh fruit and veggies (vs frozen) and keep healthy snacks around like pop chips, granola, greek yogurt, etc. I'll have to link-up next week!

  30. Try the cabbage soup diet! It's a 7 day clense that you loose 10+ in 7 days. It's pretty hard and you have to be really strict but if your desperate do it!

    ReplyDelete
  31. without resorting to illegal methods .... do a cleanse. a juice cleanse or liquid diet cleanse ... only drink wheatgrass... etc. it can be done. i was a ballerina in my old life. anorexia was like a game we played. sad, but true

    ReplyDelete
  32. Drink tons of water.
    Don't eat anything past 7pm.
Cut out as much sugar as you can, and possibly alcohol!

Good luck! Your before picture is still beautiful so you'll be fine no matter what you lose!

  36. So I read this blog post, then not 5 minutes later saw this link on pinterest. I don't know anything about it, I've never done it, but here's the link to what this blogger calls the 3-Day Military Diet: http://blessedmommy.hubpages.com/hub/Lose-Up-To-10-Pounds-In-3-Days-On-The-3-Day-Diet

To paraphrase, it's a three-day list of exact foods to eat, then you eat regularly for 4 days, so that would be 10 pounds over 1 week; supposedly according to the blogger it's safe to cycle through the 3 days on, 4 days off.

  38. go on a juice fast consisting of mainly organic vegetables.....you can add fresh squeezed fruit juices as well but keep them to a minimum due to their high sugar content. Also consume raw organic coconut oil. It's a natural thermogenic so it boosts your metabolism plus it makes your skin glow!!! If you stick to it you will see amazing results!! I'm 5'2" and was about 135lbs for the longest time and had a hard time making healthy food choices.....after agonizing over my weight for four years I finally decided to adopt a healthier lifestyle and started it off by a month long juice fast.....I lost 30 lbs in 27 days! not only did I lose the weight but my skin looked younger and healthier then it has EVER, and my overall energy and feeling of well being was off the charts....try it!!
